Dawn Hampton has been singing and performing since she was three years old, and she hasn't stopped performing since. Dawn is one of twelve children in a family that traveled as a vaudeville and carnival act.
Eventually, Dawn made it on her own performing in off-broadway plays and in clubs. Reviewers called Dawn a "singer's singer" and dubbed her the "Queen of Cabaret." She has received

numerous awards for her work including the Lifetime Achievement in Cabaret award from New York's Private Lives, and the Distinguished Achievement Director and Composer award from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets. On top of performing, she has also written and music and lyrics for the stage. More recently, Dawn appeared with Frankie Manning as a dancer in Spike Lee's Film, Malcolm X.
We are honored to have Dawn Hampton back again for Lindyfest. She inspires us all to move in ways we didn't know ourselves capable.
